Misti grew up in Texas and moved to several states before coming back to her Texas roots in 2011. She started her landscape career in Key West, Florida in 1997 where her interest in trees and plants flourished. She worked as a landscaper, learning all the trees and flowers of the region. A few years later after realizing her love for the tropics, she moved to Hawaii where she became a Certified Landscape Technician in 2004 and a Certified Arborist in 2005. In Hawaii, she worked as a landscape manager, a designer for a landscape architectural firm and later as an Arborist for a private company. After returning to Texas in 2011, Misti was elected to the board for International Society of Arboriculture, Texas Chapter as the Certification Liaison, helping others become Certified Arborists, a position she held for seven years. Recently she was hired by the International Society of Arboriculture, Texas Chapter as the Member Services Specialist, helping tree care professionals across the state with certifications, qualifications and education. Misti is Tree Risk Assessor Qualified and Oak Wilt Qualified within Texas. After twenty years of working with plants and trees, Misti is excited to share her knowledge and passion for the industry with others.
